28.04.2025.

The Director of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption, Dejan Damnjanović, met today with the Minister of Justice of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Nenad Vujić. They discussed past and future cooperation in corruption prevention, as well as ways to enhance their collaboration.

They agreed on the necessity of developing a system of ongoing cooperation through a proactive approach to prevent corruption, particularly in areas at high risk of corruption. This aligns with the strategic documents of the Republic of Serbia, which aim for effective implementation and monitoring of positive regulations in these areas, according to the highest international standards.

Director Damnjanović informed Minister Vujić about both current and planned activities, particularly concerning the monitoring of the Action Plan for 2024-2025 for the implementation of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy 2024-2028. They also discussed efforts to address the recommendations from the Council of Europe’s Group of States against Corruption (GRECO) in the Fifth Evaluation Round.

Given that the Ministry of Justice and the Agency are responsible for many activities outlined in the Action Plan for the National Anti-Corruption Strategy, as well as their shared role in GRECO and other international organizations, they agreed to intensify collaboration to achieve greater success in implementing all defined activities and recommendations.

Both the Director of the Agency and the Minister of Justice expressed their hope that their cooperation will continue to thrive. Through their respective competencies and joint efforts, they aim to enhance the rule of law, strengthen legal certainty, and build citizens' trust in both institutions.
