COOPERATION AGREEMENT IN THE FIELD OF CORRUPTION PREVENTION

In accordance with one of the conclusions from the thematic conference held during last year's celebration of International Anti-Corruption Day, which emphasized the importance of educating young people on this issue, the Director of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption, Dejan Damnjanović, the Minister of Education, prof. Slavica Đukić Dejanović, Ph.D., the Director of the Institute for the Improvement of Education and Training, Zlatko Grušanović, Ph.D, and the Acting Director of the Institute for Education Quality and Evaluation, Branislav Ranđelović, Ph.D., signed the Agreement on cooperation in the field of corruption prevention. The goal of the Agreement is to raise awareness among primary and secondary school students and empower them to recognize and combat corruption.

"The signing of this Agreement and our cooperation with the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption is very important. We need to strengthen the capacity of everyone in society to recognize corruption, including both students and teachers," said Minister Đukić Dejanović.

The cooperation between the signatories of the Agreement will involve the transfer of specific responsibilities within the scope of competence of each state body. The existing level of knowledge in the field of education related to corruption prevention will be analyzed, and joint research projects in the prevention and fight against corruption will be organized based on these findings.

The Agency will prepare a list of proposed topics, including a detailed analysis of issues related to corruption prevention. The Agency will also inform the Ministry of the materials that lecturers can use, and provide references to relevant legal regulations, strategic documents, and other sources that govern this field.

The Ministry of Education will inform all primary and secondary schools in the Republic of Serbia about the activities initiated, which will be continuously implemented in the coming school years, in accordance with the law regulating the basics of the education system.

The Institute for the Improvement of Education and Training undertook to form continuous program activities in the annual work plan, which will specify the way of introducing topics from the field of corruption prevention into teaching, and the Institute for Education Quality and Evaluation will envisage in the annual work plan an analysis of the current situation in the field of knowledge of the subject related to the prevention of corruption.
