Agency Director Dejan Damnjanović and his associates met with H.E. Ambassador Lamberto Zannier, former head of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) Election Observation Mission for local elections in the Republic of Serbia, and members of the delegation: Ms. Meaghan Fitzgerald, ODIHR Head of Election Department, Ms Keara Castaldo, ODIHR Senior Election Adviser, and Mr. Raul Mursan, ODIHR Project Coordinator.
The topic of the meeting was the ODIHR Election Observation Mission Final Report for the Local Elections held on June 2, 2024. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the findings, conclusions, and recommendations presented in the Final Report.
Additionally, opinions were exchanged on the remaining ODIHR recommendations, and areas for further cooperation were identified. Concrete steps were outlined for various stakeholders to help align the election process with OSCE obligations, other democratic election standards, and national legislation.
During the discussion, it was agreed that the Agency will continue cooperation with the ODIHR Mission in order to address certain recommendations with best comparative practices from other countries.
