PROFESSIONAL INTERNSHIP PROGRAM FOR YOUNG PEOPLE FROM SOUTH AND SOUTHWEST SERBIA FOR 2024/2025

04.10.2024.

Director Dejan Damnjanović welcomed the participants of the 2024/2025 Professional Internship Program for young people from South and Southwest Serbia, who visited the Agency as part of a study tour to various institutions and the OSCE Mission headquarters in Serbia. He wished them success in their placements within state bodies. During the visit, Agency employees introduced the interns to the legal framework, jurisdiction, and organizational structure of the Agency, ensuring they have a solid foundation of knowledge to effectively contribute to their assigned roles.

This program, now in its fifth consecutive year, aims to foster a better understanding of state institutions and promote inclusion and greater participation of young women and men from minority and less-developed communities in Serbia's public administration. It is designed for recent graduates residing in the municipalities of Bujanovac, Medveđa, Novi Pazar, Nova Varoš, Preševo, Priboj, Prijepolje, and Raška.

The project is implemented in cooperation with the OSCE Mission in Serbia and the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue, providing participants with 12 months of work experience in state administration, thereby contributing to the development of their communities.

Over the years, various institutions have participated in the program, including the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue, the Coordination Body for the Municipalities of Preševo, Bujanovac, and Medveđa, the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption, the Public Procurement Office, and the Commissioner for Protection of Equality. This year, the Ministry for European Integration, the Ministry of Tourism and Youth, and the National Academy for Public Administration have also joined.

The 2024/2025 cycle is implemented with support from the governments of the Kingdom of Norway, the Republic of Turkey, the Federal Republic of Germany, and the Republic of Ireland.
