In an effort to establish direct communication with representatives of local self-government units in the cities and municipalities of northern and northeastern Serbia, the Director of the Agency, Dejan Damnjanović, held a meeting attended by the Head of the Central Banat District, the mayors of Zrenjanin and Kikinda, as well as the mayors and deputy mayors of Novi Bečej, Žitište, Nova Crnja, and Sečanj. Simo Salapura, the Mayor of Zrenjanin, welcomed attendees as the host of the meeting venue.

During a constructive presentation on the Law on the Prevention of Corruption, the Law on Financing Political Activities, and the Law on Lobbying, Damnjanović highlighted: “These three laws impose a substantial number of responsibilities on the Agency. We oversee how officials conduct their duties and emphasize the importance of transparency and accountability in their work."

This meeting in the Central Banat District marks the seventeenth such gathering aimed at familiarizing local government representatives with critical topics, including public officials' property and income declaration, conflict of interest regulations, the latest integrity plan cycle, ethics and integrity training, lobbying, and obligations of political entities. Damnjanović also announced upcoming training sessions for public officials, to be organized by the Agency on November 12 in Novi Sad and November 13 in Subotica.

As in previous meetings, this gathering fostered an open discussion and exchange of experiences among participants, supporting the Agency’s ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration with local governments and advance its objective of preventing corruption.
