ONLINE TRAINING: "STANDARDS OF INTEGRITY FOR PUBLIC OFFICIALS WITHIN THE LEGAL AND INSTITUTIONAL FRAMEWORK FOR CORRUPTION PREVENTION"

In accordance with the recommendation from the Group of States Against Corruption (GRECO) in its Fifth Evaluation Round, an online training titled "Integrity Standards for Public Officials through the Legal and Institutional Framework for Corruption Prevention" was held on November 8, 2024. This training was attended by senior public officials in the Republic of Serbia, including assistant ministers, directors within ministries, and assistant directors of specialized organizations and government services.

The Agency for the Prevention of Corruption organized the training in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the Government. This event marked a significant step toward fulfilling one of GRECO's important recommendations concerning integrity training for public officials.

The training covered topics related to the implementation of the Law on Prevention of Corruption and the Law on Lobbying.

Agency representatives presented on ethics and integrity, obligations of public officials in preventing conflicts of interest (such as incompatibility and the accumulation of public functions, performance of other employment or activities, etc), asset and income declarations, notifications of office entry and termination, records of gifts received, lobbying regulations, and corruption risk assessments in regulations.

Through initiatives like this, the Agency fulfils its preventive role and strengthens its cooperation with public officials and state bodies, which are essential for monitoring and enforcing the law. A total of 258 public officials registered for the training, highlighting a strong interest in and commitment to integrity standards.

Two additional training sessions are scheduled to include senior government officials, such as state secretaries, special advisors to ministers, and ministers.
