98th Plenary Session of the Group of States against Corruption of the Council of Europe (GRECO)

The Director of the Agency, Dejan Damnjanović, who also serves as the Head of the Delegation of the Republic of Serbia, and Marija Baltić, Head of the Group for International Cooperation and European Integration, participated in the 98th Plenary Session of the Group of States against Corruption of the Council of Europe (GRECO). The session took place in Strasbourg from November 18 to 22, 2024.

During the session, the Plenary considered and adopted country reports for the GRECO Fourth and Fifth Evaluation Rounds, in line with the session's work program. Additionally, the Work Program for 2025 was approved. Preparations for the Sixth Evaluation Round, which will commence in 2025, were also discussed. This round will focus on preventing corruption and promoting integrity, ethical principles, and standards at the local and regional (decentralized) levels. The composition of the evaluation teams for the Sixth Round was finalized, with plans for evaluation visits to Estonia, Luxembourg, the Slovak Republic, Slovenia, and the United Kingdom in 2025.

The meeting also featured updates from observers, including the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, the European Commission, and various Council of Europe bodies. These updates highlighted key achievements in the fight against corruption and announced upcoming events in member states.

Elections were held for the positions of President, Vice-President, and five members of the GRECO Bureau for the Sixth Evaluation Round. Mr. David Meyer from the United Kingdom was elected as Chairman, while Mr. Antonio Delicado from Portugal was elected as Vice-Chairman.
