The 23rd Annual Professional Conference and General Assembly of the European Partners Against Corruption (EPAC)/European Anti-Corruption Contact Points Network (EACN) is being held in Bucharest, with the participation of the Director of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption, Dejan Damnjanović.
The two-day conference is attended by notable figures, including Livia Stoica Becht, Executive Secretary of GRECO and Head of the Economic Crime and Corruption Department at the Council of Europe; Linas Pernavas, EPAC/EACN President and Director of the Special Investigation Service of Lithuania; Mihai-Catalin Necula, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Romania; and Jeroen Blomsma, Head of the Anti-Corruption Sector at the European Commission.
This year's conference reviewed the results of the work to date, as well as possible future directions in the field of anti-corruption and police oversight. Several sessions debated contemporary challenges and opportunities in investigating corruption and fraud, examples of best practices in investigating corruption at the international level, as well as risk-based approaches to preventing corruption and fraud.
Voting for the EPAC/EACN award for the most innovative and successful Anti- Corruption (AC) and/or Police Oversight (PO) project in 2024 was also organized.
