Agency Director Dejan Damnjanović, along with associates from the Sector for International Cooperation, National Strategic Documents, Plans, and Projects, held an online meeting today with H.E. Aybek Shakhavidinov, Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Hungary and Ambassador-designate to Serbia.
Director Damnjanović and Ambassador Shahavidinov agreed that international cooperation is crucial to fulfilling the mission of institutions dedicated to preventing and combating corruption. They also exchanged views on the importance of continuing efforts to further develop partnership relations at both multilateral and bilateral levels in the fight against corruption.
At Ambassador Shahavidinov’s proposal, it was agreed that, in the coming period, an initial meeting would be held with representatives of Uzbekistan’s Anti-Corruption Agency to strengthen ties between the two institutions and deepen cooperation. Subsequently, a memorandum of cooperation will be signed during Director Damnjanović's official visit to Uzbekistan in May of this year.
This agreement will formalize cooperation and lay the foundation for a system of continuous mutual collaboration, communication, and coordination of activities. It will facilitate the exchange of information, experiences, and best practices in corruption prevention while exploring new mechanisms to address this global challenge in line with the highest international standards and the regulations governing both institutions.
