A representative of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption participated in the 99th Plenary Meeting of the Group of States against Corruption of the Council of Europe (GRECO), held from 17 to 19 March 2025 in Strasbourg.
During the meeting, country reports from GRECO’s Third, Fourth, and Fifth Evaluation Rounds were reviewed and adopted in accordance with the meeting’s work program. Additionally, the Activity Report for the previous year was approved. Among other agenda items, compliance reports on preventing corruption and promoting integrity in central government and law enforcement bodies were examined for Albania, Azerbaijan, Germany, the Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.
As part of the Sixth Evaluation Round, which focuses on preventing corruption and promoting integrity at the local and regional levels, training sessions were held on 20 and 21 March for 96 evaluators from 45 member states. Representatives from the Agency for Prevention of Corruption and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Serbia also attended. The training covered previous experiences, the evaluation methodology, and discussions on identifying and addressing risk areas, establishing an ethical infrastructure, and implementing transparency and control mechanisms.
