MEETING OF THE DIRECTOR OF THE AGENCY AND THE MINISTER OF STATE ADMINISTRATION AND LOCAL SELF-GOVERNMENT

The Director of the Agency, Dejan Damnjanović, who is also the Head of the Delegation of the Republic of Serbia to the Group of States against Corruption of the Council of Europe (GRECO), discussed with the Minister of State Administration and Local Self-Government, Snežana Paunović, the results of their cooperation to date, the reform of public administration, and the necessary steps to prepare the Republic of Serbia for the upcoming Sixth Round of GRECO evaluation.

The meeting was held at the initiative of Minister Paunović, during which Director Damnjanović briefed her on the recent participation of the Delegation of the Republic of Serbia in the GRECO plenary session, held in Strasbourg from March 23 to March 27, 2026.

In addition to providing information on the implementation of recommendations from the Fifth Evaluation Round, which relates to the prevention of corruption and the enhancement of integrity in central government and law enforcement bodies, the Director presented the initial results of evaluation visits to Estonia and Slovakia as part of the Sixth Evaluation Round.

The Sixth Evaluation Round focuses on the prevention of corruption and the promotion of integrity in local and regional public authorities.

The meeting underscored the joint commitment to continued cooperation aimed at strengthening integrity, transparency, and accountability in the work of all public authorities, both at the national and local levels. Both institutions reaffirmed their dedication to improving the anti-corruption framework in line with the highest European standards through consistent implementation of GRECO recommendations.

It was agreed that concrete cooperation will be intensified in the coming period through the contact points of the Agency and the Ministry, with the aim of preventing corruption, strengthening integrity at the local level, and preparing the competent public authorities of the Republic of Serbia for the upcoming Sixth Round of Evaluation.
