Director of the Agency for Prevention of Corruption Dejan Damnjanovic met today with Minister for European Integration Tanja Miscevic.
In particular, they discussed on implementation of the activities from the Action Plan for Chapter 23, as well as Agency supervision of the Subchapter Fight against Corruption of this strategic document.
To achieve a higher degree of accomplishment in the implementation of defined activities it was spoken about findings and recommendations that the Agency stated in previous reports on the implementation of the Revised Action Plan. They also tackled the fulfillment of the Council of Europe Group of States against Corruption (GRECO) recommendations in the Fifth Evaluation Round as well as the recommendation of the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR).
As the fight against corruption is one of the key topics in the pre-accession negotiations, it was agreed that the exchange of information between the two institutions is carried out on a regular basis, for better and more efficient reporting on the fulfillment of the obligations that Serbia has on that path.
Director Damnjanovic emphasized that the Agency, within its competencies, will continue to strive to support the implementation of the necessary reforms in the process of negotiations on Serbia's accession to the EU and expressed gratitude to the minister for the excellent cooperation that the Agency has with the Ministry of European Integration.
