In the premises of the Regional Unit of the Agency in Niš, director Dejan Damnjanović met with the mayor of Prokuplje and the presidents of the municipalities of Kuršumlija, Blace, Merošina, Žitorađa, Aleksinac, Sokobanja and Ražanj.
This meeting provided an opportunity to discuss topics related to the Agency's competencies in direct contact and to exchange experiences of representatives of the local communities of the Nišava, Toplica, and Zaječar districts on using more effective mechanisms to combat corruption.
The public officials showed special interest in issues related to the declaration of assets and income, conflicts of interest, the new cycle of integrity plan preparation, ethics and integrity training, and procedures conducted by the Agency.
The importance of opening this regional unit of the Agency was highlighted, considering the opportunity for direct contact, asking questions, and getting explanations, all with the aim of bringing the Agency closer to the citizens and familiarizing them with the Agency's work, responsibilities, and daily activities.
This practice will be continued in other regional units of the Agency in Kragujevac and Novi Sad, which will also include representatives of other state bodies and civil society organizations.
