After the meeting held last week in Niš with the presidents of the municipalities of Nišava, Toplica, and Zaječar districts, the director of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption, Dejan Damnjanović, met with the mayor of Kragujevac, Nikola Dašić, and the presidents of 18 municipalities of the Šumadija, Morava, Pomoravlje, and Raška districts: Aranđelovac, Batočina, Knić, Lapovo, Rača, Topola, Jagodina, Despotovac, Paraćin, Rekovac, Svilajnac, Ćuprija, Čačak, Gornji Milanovac, Ivanjica, Lučani, Kraljevo, and Vrnjačka Banja.
On the agenda were topics within the Agency's competence, specifically issues of property and income declaration, conflicts of interest, and the preparation of the 4th cycle of integrity plans. There were also discussions about the training sessions that the Agency conducts in its areas of competence (ethics and integrity, conflicts of interest, lobbying, etc.), as well as the procedures carried out by the Agency.
The establishment of direct contacts between public officials and the Agency's management aims to familiarize the officials with the Agency's methods of operation and to find more effective mechanisms for preventing possible violations of the Law on the Prevention of Corruption.
The Agency will complete the first round of this meeting model by organizing a meeting in the regional unit in Novi Sad. In the following period, the Agency will continue this practice and include representatives of other state bodies and civil society organizations.
