MEETING OF THE DIRECTOR OF THE AGENCY AND MAYOR OF KARGUJEVAC

At the meeting of the Director of the Agency for Prevention of Corruption Dejan Damnjanović and the Mayor of the City of Kragujevac Nikola Dašić, important issues for the Agency and for citizens of Kragujevac were agreed upon: premises where the local office of the Agency will be opened, as well as the premises where training on various topics within the mandate of the Agency, such as training for public officials, representatives of political subjects, civil society organizations, and media, will be held.

MEETING OF THE DIRECTOR AND MINISTER OF EDUCATION

The Director of the Agency Dejan Damnjanović and the Minister of Education in the Government of the Republic of Serbia Slavica Djukić Dejanović discussed joint activities of the Ministry and the Agency in the further period, at the meeting today. The role of youth education in the field of corruption prevention through the inclusion of this topic in extracurricular and optional activities and programs of primary, secondary, and higher education institutions is particularly highlighted, as well as other forms of cooperation between the Agency and the Ministry, by which a better understanding of this phenomenon faced by all countries in the world, will be achieved.

PARTICIPATION OF THE AGENCY IN THE REGIONAL EVENTS IN THE ORGANIZATION OF THE UN OFFICE FOR DRUGS AND CRIME

The Agency participated in several events in the organization of the UN Office for Drugs and Crime (UNODC) during September. Representative of the Agency participated in the Multi-Stakeholder Workshop on the United Nations Convention against Corruption and its Review Mechanism that was held in Bečići on 19th and 20th September 2023. The workshop presents a platform that gathers the representatives of the public institutions, civil society, and private sector to share experiences, best practices, and ideas for the improvement of cooperation between the Western Balkan countries.

TRAINING “FINANCIAL INVESTIGATION“

Within the Project “Facility Supporting Strengthening Rule of Law in the Republic of Serbia“ (EU for Fight Against Corruption and for Fundamental Rights), jointly financed by the EU, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and the Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC), implemented by GIZ, ADA, CPMA and OSCE Mission to Serbia, on September 14 and 15, training on fraud detection and investigation techniques for representatives of the Agency for Prevention of Corruption was held. This training was the first out of five trainings that will be organized by the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA).
